Any company can come to Costa Rica, learn the landscape of a particular rain forest, then offer tours. But how about offering a tour of the rain forest from above it? By taking the guided hanging bridges hike, you’ll be able to experience the cloud forest from both ground level trails and a series of suspension bridges.

As you cross each bridge, you’ll see the entire height of the forest and how life has adapted and thrived with thousands of individual plants living on each host tree. Mosses, lichens, bromeliads, orchids, vines, and trees have all their own strategies in the race to capture a share of the limited light penetrating the canopy to reach the forest floor.

And after the hike, the managers of the business will talk to us about how they run this unique enterprise. (A Provocative Leadership exclusive!)

But that’s not all!

In the afternoon we will be visiting a working coffee plantation! On this tour, you will be whisked away to a beautiful family-owned coffee plantation nestled in the mountains of Monteverde. Once at the farm, specialized guides will explain the most important aspects of coffee, its harvest and processing.

They will take you through the history of the crop from its beginning in the Arabic countries and Ethiopia. You will learn about the importance of the golden bean “grano de oro” and its impact in the social, cultural, and economic development of Costa Rica. You will have the opportunity to explore the traditional house where you will enjoy a friendly atmosphere and the delicious and seductive aroma of one of the best coffees in the world.

And, at the end of the tour, the owners of the plantation will field our questions about leadership and management! (Another Provocative Leadership exclusive!)
